A lot of you are wondering what it is that I actually do.
Well here it goes. I am working on the Largest Oil Field in Northern America up in
Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
It is the size of a Middle Eastern Country oil field.
It is Owned and Operated by BP
I am doing internal inspection of pipe throughout the field using a Radiation Source and Doing Ultrasonic testing.
That can be from working in a Facility or out in the Tundra on the Pipe.
Here is a Photo of the "Camera" that we use.
The body is what hold the Pill size Source and is surrounded in Lead.We then use the really long crank (that is to get us safely away from the radiation when it is exposed) to expose the source so that it can put and image on the film.
The Smaller tube after the camera is called the guide tube. And at the end of the guide tube is Collimator. The collimator is what directs the Radiation towards the image that we are looking for. That camera weighs 54 lbs. It gets a little heavy towards the end of the night.

Also only send stuff by United States Postal Service.
UPS, FEDEX, and DHL will probably take a year to get.

Hi Brian: Glad you have adjusted to life in Alaska and are having a positive attitude. It is definately a different place.
